Hunters Pay Fines for Illegal Hunting Violations
Victor Dale Dry of Killeen and Gerald Robert Lohr of Copperas Cove were fined 225 each after guilty pleas on two counts of illegal hunting without licenses and killing a deer at night. They were arrested by Texas Parks and Wildlife officers Gary Turner and others and appeared before Judge Chester Kincheloe. A Kempner man, Lloyd Doyle, was also arrested on two counts including hunting from a public road.

Burnet figures in Hammond funeral and legal cases
Burnet native Fielding H. Hammond, 84, died Nov. 27. Services were held Nov. 29 at Clements Chapel with burial at Oddfellow Cemetery. Hammond had a long legal career in the 33rd Judicial District, serving as District Clerk, County Attorney, and District Attorney, before retiring earlier this year.
