Grand Jury Indicts 15 and Passes 14 in Burnet County

Burnet County grand jury met and considered 36 cases. Fifteen indictments were returned, fourteen cases passed, and seven no bills issued. Indictments include forgery by passing and possession of cocaine involving multiple defendants.

Hospital Worker Shirley Randell Found Dead at Granite Shoals

Shirley Randell a 43 year old medical technician at Shepperd Memorial Hospital in Barnet was found dead by her co workers a gunshot wound to the head in her Granite Shoals home. Police ruled death by own action with no foul play suspected. Survivors include a son and a daughter. Funeral services were held in Marble Falls.

Burnet gears up for a December 3 parade starting at 4 15 p m led by Santa Claus. More than 22 entrants include Skyline Baptist Church Burnet Neighborhood Center AME Methodist Church Cub Scout Pack 289 Burnet County Historical Society and Continental Telephone of Texas. Prizes total 110 for top floats and bicycles with judges from Lampasas Chamber of Commerce. Route altered to Main Street Jackson Street and Pierce Street.
