Bartholomew Murt pleaded guilty to bigamy before Judge F G Foscmerton in the afternoon. Sentence was suspended and he was placed on probation after his attorney claimed Edna Holcomb Murphy was already married when she became his wife in Port Henry New York on April 4 1807. He had married Elizabeth Duncan on November 18, 19. He has been jailed since February 1 in default of $1,560 bail.
In Pittsburgh reports dealers expect the hog price to reach ten dollars by March with prices quoted near 10.05 as a record hog value rises. Cleveland and Youngstown notes show hog prices leaping with all grades advancing sharply to around four hundred per hundredweight.

Montpelier February 22 Enrico Magianni who is charged with stabbing Pietro Petrucci following a Barre card game was arrested on River Street near Pioneer Station Chief of Police Durkee reported a tip that Magianni might be in boat vicinity but found him strolling on ite street He was placed in guard and Bail was set The Barre chief Faulkner continued the case In Montpelier Magianni gave no weapons and injuries to Petrucci included head and facial wounds with recovery possible if blood poisoning does not occur He will likely recover unless complications arise
