Wichita County 4-H Dress Revue Held in Burkburnett
Wichita County 4-H Dress Revue took place in Burkburnett with 29 girls modeling skirts blouses dresses and suits they made this year. Winners included Janet Ward Becky Clark Tina Norris Cindy Gray in junior fashion and Connie Swinford Patricia Gray Louise Bentley in seniors. Connie Swinford earned a $25 Series E Bond and the top senior also won the right to represent Wichita County as Cotton Queen in Stanford with three Stanford winners advancing to Miss Cotton of Texas in Dallas in October.

Base education office reports 241 Sheppard personnel attended Midwestern University in Wichita Falls with tuition assistance during the spring semester. Seven students earned honors with GPAs of 3.70 or higher on 12 to 35 semester hours, led by TSgt Donald Bourgin with exactly 3.70 from 35 hours. An additional 89 attended without tuition assistance, totaling 330 students at Sheppard making it a leading Air Force installation in this program.

The 15 congregations from Wichita Falls to Muleshoe join five states for a district assembly in Amarillo June 29 to July 2 at the Tri State Coliseum with about 7000 in attendance. Harold P. Bruce notes families from 200 congregations will come with Bible and notebook for instruction on disciple making. A mass baptism is planned and a Sunday 3 p.m. English and Spanish address titled Rescuing a Great Crowd of Monkind Out of Armageddon will be delivered.

84 Year Old Man Escapes Nursing Home Stroll
Roland A. Nelson aged 84, patient at Evergreen Manor in Burkburnett, wandered away Wednesday afternoon June 21. A large dragnet including Sheppard Air Force Base helicopters, Boy Scouts, and Burkburnett volunteers searched until the man was found by Dale Terry of Channel 3 near a roadside ditch. He was hospitalized at Wichita General and kept under observation. This was his second such wandering from the home.
