McCandless and McCluskey Elected Burkburnett Commissioners
In a June 5 1967 special election Burkburnett voters chose Reid McCandless and Joe Ray McCluskey to join Eldon Morris on the seven member City Council. McCluskey won a coin flip to break a tie with Morris. McCandless will serve two years and McCluskey one. The council approved installing street lights on Westward Drive and West 5th 6th and 7th Streets and discussed use of City property by Future Farmers of America near the sewer station and other town needs.

Acting Burkburnett postmaster since July 1964 W T Zimmerman has been named by President Johnson as a nominee for postmaster among four Texas nominations sent to the U S Senate.
