A special meeting of the Upper Blackwood Road Board at Boyup discussed preparing for pneumonic influenza. The board formed a temporary Health Board, planned hospital sites, ward committees, and cooperation with the Boyup Red Cross. They sought masks, medicines, and authority to act without delays, naming ward hospitals and requesting teacher cooperation.
At South Bunbury residence Mrs Naylor a strong working committee was formed to organise Bunbury District Nursing Association for district fundraiser. President J Monkhouse outlined ten years of war era work and urged more funds to cover costs including a motor car. Miss Boehm praised. Mr F Jarvis named honorary secretary.
In a meeting at Boyup the Board moved to ask the Health Department if Dr Lonegans area includes Upper Blackwood Road Board district and to convene a special Board of Health if an outbreak occurs near Bunbury or Katanning. They urged cooperation from Bridgetown West Arthur Boards and postposed the Perth Co operative Societies Conference. Travelers from infected areas would face seven days home quarantine and notices will be posted outside Boyup station gate.
