The Buffalo Center Bison grid team hosts Forest City Indians Friday night at 9:00 p.m. in NIC action at the local athletic field. Last year Buffalo Center lost 14 7 at Forest City. The Bison opened with a 39 0 win over Thompson Cubs while Forest City beat Clear Lake Lions in a non conference opener.

Four Winners at Bucks Night in Buffalo Center
Last Friday's Bucks Night drawing produced four winners who stepped forward to claim $25 trade certificates. Winners were Ben Gerdis Otto Sheldon Ray Steenblock and Ina Brass. The event was hosted by Chunk Lavik at the Main Square. Next week's drawing will be Friday at 9 00 P M in Buffalo Center. Mr and Mrs R Layne of Des Moines visited the Abbas home.
Winnebago REA returns dividends to members
The Winnebago Rural Electric Cooperative Association in Thompson Iowa issued 2 220 checks totaling 81 951 80 on Wednesday September 15 to its members. President R E Aukes and Secretary Treasurer Gustaf Gustafson praised members employees and management for the refund and noted low electric rates. The REA covers parts of Worth Winnebago Hancock and Kossuth counties serving about 2050 rural establishments and 4500 telephones in 15 towns with 25 employees. The Dairyland system is expanding generation capacity with large new plants nearby.

Price Rites Held At Lakota Church September 15
Final rites were held at the Presbyterian Church In Lakota on Wednesday afternoon September 15 for Donald Price 28 of Lakota who was killed in an automobile accident on Sunday September 12. Interment was at Maple Hill Cemetery Lakota. Survivors include his mother five children two sisters and two brothers. Pallbearers were Ingvald Sunde Cate Patterson Arnold Becker Ray Becker Harold Olthoff and Gail Olthoff. Price was killed when the car rolled over on a county road south of Elkader. Eight other passengers escaped serious injury.

The Buffalo Center Community School District election produced 104 votes with no opposition for three local posts. Incumbent Dr. J. C. Moermond won a board seat with 200 votes, Wallace Swanson 89 votes for the other vacancy, and Irvin Wessels unopposed for Area No. 3 director with 101 votes in Buffalo Center and 80 in Rake. Joe Westby defeated Eldon Crandall for the county board seat.
