Champion Boar Shown By Duane Hauge
Duane Hauge of Eden township exhibited the champion boar in the Winnebago Junior Show at Thompson during August 19 20 and 21. The Chester White boar had won his class previously. An earlier announcement incorrectly credited another exhibitor with the top award.

Richard Thompson Wins Judging Contest
Richard Thompson of Forest township won a livestock judging contest held August 27 at H. F. Hofbauer farm. Richard Johnson, also of Forest township, placed second with Robert Thompson of Norway township third. Johnny Dunbar and Roger Thompson, both from Forest township, finished fourth and fifth. Contest judged dairy cows, market lambs, market pigs and breeding pigs to select a 4-H team for the Iowa State Fair judging contest.

Drainage project hearing set for Winnebago County Iowa
On July 15 1942 O G Rislow filed a survey report with plats recommending establishing a drainage district and constructing improvements for Drain No 6 after repairs. The Board of Supervisors has entered the plan as tentative and hearing is set for October 7 1948 at 10 30 AM in Forest City Court Room. Objections or damages claims must be filed by then or later objections barred. County Auditor Oscar G Narum notes the lands will be drained and costs assessed as provided by law.
