Winnebago County Veterans Gather for 60th Korean War Anniversary
Winnebago County veterans marked the 60th anniversary of the end of the Korean War with a Sept 22 dinner at Heritage Town Center Buffalo Center hosted by the County Veterans Commission. Speaker Jerry Abrahamson, a former Forest City resident and POW, recounted months in captivity and harsh camp conditions. Caputo urged veterans to share their stories as he works on a book for his grandkids.

Maps with grave locations serve as a ticket to dessert and coffee at the Heritage Town Center with a five dollar entry fee and golf carts available for those who wish not to walk.
