Buffalo Center hosts Lake Mills in a North Iowa Conference opener. Iowa Republicans surge in off year election results

Republicans won control of the Iowa House with more than 80 seats and captured several state offices. Liddy, Doyle, and Worthington lost races while Lloyd Smith secured the state auditor post. Turner topped Scalise for the attorney general race. Nationally, Richard Turner led in Council Bluffs. Lt. Gov. Fulton trailed Mills by under a thousand. Neal Smith and other GOP picks strengthened Congress wins in multiple districts. Sunday guests included local families at Sapp and Stenersen homes.
