Neighbors Husk 45 Acres of Corn for Hooper Toy Plant Start
Wm Friesenborg suffered burns and injuries when his clothing snagged on a tractor power take-off while husking corn. Neighbors quickly husked his remaining 50 acres in one day with help from several families and local businesses. Meanwhile Caryl Hooper and wife began manufacturing metal toy cars and novelties in their basement, planning wholesale sales and local displays at Beaving’s Variety Store and the Tribune office.

Inez Jordal-Larson, known as Inez Jordal, died at her home in Austin Minnesota on November 3 at age 39 years 9 months and 6 days after a year of illness. Services were held November 5 at Holy Cross Lutheran church with Rev Arthur Schultz officiating and burial at Oakwood cemetery. She was born January 28 1910 at Buffalo Center and graduated from the local high school in 1927. She married Henry Larson on August 25 1933 and the couple had seven children Jean 15 Virginia 13 Richard 10 Karen 8 Gary 5 and Robert 1 1/2. Surviving relatives include her husband six children her mother Ida Jordal of Buffalo Center three brothers Boyd Hardy and Vernon and many local friends.
