Lakota Man Wins Corn Husking Contest at Garner Meet
Ernest Heidecker of Lakota won the district corn husking contest at Garner with a 2021 pound net. Oscar Johnson of Lincoln township placed second with 1997 pounds after taping his hands caused a two minute delay, costing him about 80 cars. Arnold Linderman of New Hartford finished third with 1882.3 pounds, Allan Kiewier was fourth with 1881. An estimated 3500 spectators attended as nineteen contestants from nine counties competed. the top three advance to the state finals next week.

Mrs Sowers Improving After Iowa City Visit
