Grandson to compete in National Geographic State Bee
Adam Hassebroek an eighth grader from Dike-New Hartford is named a semifinalist for the 2017 Iowa National Geographic State Bee to be held March 31 at the University of Northern Iowa Cedar Falls He is the son of Jeff and Amy Hassebroek and Tara Ouellette with grandparents Nancy Hassebroek Buffalo Center and Norman and Shirley Roth Thompson. The state winner earns 100 and a copy of the Atlas and a trip to Washington DC for the national bee May 14 17 The national champion wins 50000 scholarship and an expedition to the Galapagos Islands
