A fragment of Algona area items notes a basket social at Lincoln Juniors Center School on Friday March 27, for a fund drive. It also mentions a house for rent on the Jasper Burma farm near Buffalo Center and several local residents visiting Hardin County relatives.
J Shoemaker chairman of Greene County Board of Supervisors reports a trained social worker has saved about 6000 dollars in 1923 over 1922. The worker is paid 1800 dollars annually plus travel and office expenses with part time stenographer support. Similar savings cited for Mahaska County as a pioneer. advocates continuing the system to aid the poor.
