Lourtney Kahler and Jessica Hansen researched Denmark for AIB International Festival. Students built booths from 36 countries, wearing traditional dress and offering cuisine samples. Professor Gregg Johnson said the event broadens global understanding and ties families to heritage.

North Iowa School District seeks FEMA safe room grant
Administrator Cory Myer explains North Iowa Community Schools submitted a FEMA Safe Room grant application to fund 85 percent of construction for a tornado safe room gym. The plan, by Langerman Architects, places the new structure on the north side of the school, preserves a playground and does not yet commit to land or parking changes. The process may take up to a year, with board decisions pending public meetings.

USDA announces four week CRP signup beginning March 12
The U.S. Department of Agriculture will run a four week Conservation Reserve Program signup from March 12 to April 6. CRP funds long term, resource conserving covers to improve water quality and reduce soil erosion while developing wildlife habitat, with rental payments and cost share.
