Lakota Community Club Meets With Pancake Day Plans
Lakota Community Club met February 27 at 6 pm with five members. Reverend Wheeler led prayer as reports were approved. Discussion covered scholarship payments, Christmas events, pancake day set for March 17 at Lakota Fire Station with setup at 9 am, donations, and volunteer coordination. Proceeds support scholarships and expenses. Next meeting March 26 at 6 pm.

North Iowa School District Wins EPA Diesel Grant
The Iowa DNR awards North Iowa Community School District up to 38000 for a new bus and retrofits to reduce diesel emissions across its fleet. Six districts receive funds totaling 280359 with EPA Clean Diesel Campaign backing. District plans include replacing the oldest route bus and retrofitting engines older than 2004. Judging emphasized idling policy, bus age, pollution reduction efforts, and air quality education programs.
