California firm eyes 100 wind turbines near Buffalo Center

EDF Renewable Energy of San Diego is discussing a Golden Plains Wind Project north of Buffalo Center in Winnebago and Kossuth Counties. The plan envisions up to 200 MW, 10 permanent local jobs, 200 construction jobs, and tax revenue of 9000 to 13000 dollars per megawatt.

Dad's Belgian Waffles Fundraiser at Post 21

The American Legion Post 21 hosts its Dad's Belgian Waffles fundraiser on Sunday March 6 from 10 30 a m to 1 p m at the Buffalo Center Fire Station. Waffles with butter cream syrup sausage coffee orange drink and milk cost 7 per person and kids age five and under eat free. The Ladies Auxiliary will also run a bake sale.
