Sailfish catch marks deep sea trip off Mexico coast
lifelong fisherman Chuck McGrady returned from a Mexico deep sea voyage off Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo with a 9 foot sailfish weighing 86 pounds. The catch was made 20 miles offshore in the Pacific and took 25 minutes to reel in. The sailfish was damaged so landed for donation to a children's home. McGrady, a Buffalo Center resident, notes this is his third sailfish and recalls a 206 pound blue marlin. He sees declining fish populations and values his newer hunting adventures. Chest navy veteran and former California resident, he and wife Jennifer visited Acapulco and other locations. The January 26 to February 6 trip included Jennifer relaxing by the pool.
