A nationwide market research survey of 59,900 U.S. households finds 72 percent of low income under $5,000 saved trading stamps and 67 percent liked them, while eight percent favor abolition. In the $10,000 bracket 37 percent save and 52 percent like them with eight percent supporting abolition. An unexpected note: lower income groups show the smallest trading stamp usage.
Mr and Mrs James Rhode and their Sutherland family were weekend visitors at William Rhode's home. Mrs Wm Rhode joined them on Friday to Estherville to visit William, their husband and father, in a nursing home there.

Sunday a surprise housewarming picnic supper was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Duey Schutter and family who recently moved to a farm near Forest City. Guests included the Evansons Weavers Goetz Armstrongs and Madetzkes with others from Buffalo Center and Elmore Minnesota, who presented a monetary gift.
Yogurt once dismissed as a cure for ill health is making a comeback as a versatile dairy product. It adds refined flavor to recipes, makes fluffy desserts, and, with one third the calories of sour cream, offers energy-rich nutrition. Yogurt substitutes in dressings, pancakes, biscuits, gelatin molds, and casseroles.
The 1969 4-H Mother Daughter Tea at Forest City’s Methodist Church showcased Home Interior Decorating. Mrs. Wallace Cox spoke on color and interior beautification while 140 mothers daughters and leaders attended. Julie Steffensen opened the program as Elsie Mae Van Wert discussed exhibits for Jr Show.
The Grant Gleaners 4-H Club met Friday, June 6. Lorraine Gerzema led the Pledge of Allegiance and 4-H Pledge. Deanna Coden gave an illustrated talk on choosing a picture for a frame. Diane Pederson demonstrated matting a picture and Gwen Doden showed formal and informal accessory groupings with slides. Lunch followed, served by Lorraine Gerzema.
Our National Frustration is shown daily in press radio and TV though not from Soviet fears but from moral decay. The Bible’s message about Christ offers redemption and strength. True believers are not frustrated but conquerors through faith and God’s help. Sunday dinner guests at the Jack Davids home include PFC and Mrs John R Davids Jill and Mr Mrs Bert Russ of Frost Minnesota Attend church this Sunday.
Tribune files recall events from June 1 1959 at Hope College Memorial Chapel Holland Michigan where Rev Henry Van Dyke received the Doctor of Divinity degree. Dr G F Dolmage and wife visited Iowa City for their 50th anniversary epithh of the Doctor's class of 1909 and other notes from 1949 1939 1929 and 1909 including a firemen school fishing trip Venus.
June 26, 1884 Buffais Carte forenoon of last week and that evening seven head of young stock were killed within a few yards of this house by one bolt.
The Stenberg reunion convened Sunday June 15 in Radcliffe Town with about 40 relatives attending. Lester Reisem and family hosted guests Thursday evening for Lance Reisem’s birthday, joined by Sam Nelson and twins Mark and Mary of Buffalo Center and Chuck Hoeppner of Lakota. Additional visitors included Diana Roth, Janine Schubert of Marshalltown, and Nancy Wabben at the Balance home Saturday evening.
Visitors also were Mr and Mrs Fred Yantis, David and Karen of Marshalltown.
