Crop Bulletin From Des Moines Iowa June 19 1905
The week was hotter than normal with abundant sun for crop growth. Corn cultivation was good except in areas with recent heavy rain. Four-fifths of planted acres are activated, but stands are below normal and growth uneven due to replanting. Small grains are advancing, wheat and oats show rank growth with little rust. Clover is heavy, pastures and meadows are excellent, potatoes and garden truck thrive, strawberries yield well above average, apples fair in the north and not promising in the south.
