Feed Grain Permitted Acres Explained
Ober G. Anderson, chairman of the Winnebago County ASC, explains the 1981 feed grain program permits corn and grain sorghum acres per farm. Permitted acreage equals farm base minus acres diverted from production in 1961, and must be used for conservation to count as diverted. Farmers should review their acreages to ensure they do not exceed permits and that diverted land is in addition to the farm’s average conserving acres in 1959 and 1860.
