Wartime letters from U S Navy and Army servicemen in 1945 describe mail from home, training at Great Lakes and Lucky Strike France, visits to Paris and Le Havre, and thanks to Red Cross and Service Women for support. Writers include Bam Loats from U S S Puget Sound CVE113 and Vernon Boekelman at U S N T S Great Lakes.
The document lists balances with Farmers Trust & Savings Bank and the Treasurer's balance as of June 30, 1945, including total funds for General Fund and House Fund. It notes restricted funds NONE, and provides certification that the report is correct to knowledge and belief by Treasurer C. L. Peterson, with President E. E. Sapp and Secretary J. J. Guyer, and that the board has examined the treasurer and his records.

W A Brass and John Ennen visit E W Gerzema home Iowa Falls and see Fred Gerzema, returned from German prison camp on 60 day furlough. he is BE W Ger zema's nephew.
The Buffalo Center Iowa Town Council met in City Hall at 8 p m with Mayor Costigan presiding. Members Winter Schleifer Pink Asmus attended. Bills for reading meters cleaning hall labor and insurance were approved. Budget accepted. hearing set for August 7 1945 at 8 p m in City Hall. meeting adjourned.
