Forest City North Iowa wrestling swept a Thursday triangular at Newman Catholic defeating Hampton Dumont 51-21 and Newman 55-15 to lift their season mark to 12-6. Andrew Mettry and Jake Staudt each had two wins including pins, with multiple teammates adding pins or forfeits as coach Steve Staudt praised the squad’s timely surge.

North Iowa JV Boys win twice to move to 9-1
The North Iowa JV basketball team posted back to back wins on January 13 and 14, beating Belmond 56-21 and Central Springs 32-19. Taylor Ostermann led Belmond with 14 points, while Dylan Voortmann added 12. In the Central Springs game Yegge led scoring with nine, and Voortmann added seven as the team cemented a 9-1 record.

New football districts announced for 2012 13
The Iowa High School Athletic Association unveiled the new football district assignments for 2012 and 2013. The North Iowa Bison join eight man District 2, joining West Bend Mallard Newell Fonda Northeast Hamilton Laurens Marathon Graettinger Terris Ruthven Ayrshire CWL and CAL. Coach Don Anderson says the district will be very competitive with several strong programs and non district games against District 1 teams.
