American Legion Holds January Post Meeting
At the January 14 meeting the American Legion conducted Post Everlasting rites for five deceased members since June 1964. Commander Dean Sunde led prayers, and the history records of Jerry Ukena, Walter Leslie, Walter Rosenau, Harold Becker, and Edger Ricks were read and burned in a trench-helmet brazier. A moment of silence followed, then plans for a Winnshago County Legion and Auxiliary meeting, the Walleye Fish Fry, and various logistics for fish prep, meals, and table setup were announced. Attendance and finances were reported, with 203 members paid for 1965 and a cash balance of $202.95.
