Ronnie Oleson’s Father Suffers Stroke
Roger Oleson aged 53 of near Kensett suffered a severe stroke last Saturday night and was rushed to Mercy Hospital in Mason City. He is well known in the area and the father of Ronnie Oleson of this city. Mr and Mrs Oleson have stayed with him lately and upon returning home Wednesday he was somewhat improved and able to take nourishment.

Spring Barrow Show Set for Albert Lea This Week
Junior exhibitors from 4-H FFA and Vocational Agriculture will show in Albert Lea February 24 25 26 as part of the Minnesota State Spring Barrow Show. Juniors compete in one pen of market hogs with a 180 pound minimum weight, adults in separate divisions. A $1634 junior prize fund supports pen exhibits, individual exhibits and junior records.

Our School Needs A Larger Play Ground
In early Town history rural districts planned one acre per 90 to 100 elementary students and rich play areas. Today about 500 elementary students share less than an acre, causing crowding and injuries as older students avoid the field to protect younger ones.

Pvt. Eugene Ostermann injured in a New Years car crash was flown from Park hospital in Mason City to Great Lakes hospital Chicago for further head injury treatment. Darold R. Boever of Titonka Iowa recently qualified as expert with the M-1 rifle on Honshu Japan, serving as message center specialist with Headquarters Co. of the 1st Cavalry Division’s 8th Regiment in the Far East since May 1953.

The Prices received money as they prepare to move this week to a farm house near Buffalo Center, with plans to build there next summer.
