Vision Tests Find Many Drivers Need New Glasses
An Iowa law requiring vision tests for license renewals has led to 484 failures to meet vision standards from last July to December. Chief Examiner Clarence Shirer notes benefits include safer driving and clearer sight, as examiners processed nearly 30 thousand permits and 288 thousand renewals in six months while identifying thousands of unsafe vehicles and driving habits.
