State eyes first nuclear plant with 100 million cost
Construction begins this spring on Iowa's planned first nuclear power plant costing over 100 million dollars with completion possibly by December 1973. Several sites are under study. Liquor issues appear in Lyon and Mahaska counties with Lyon voting dry and Mahaska voting wet, the Lyon county margin at five votes against liquor by the glass.

Duane Huisman arrived Monday for a 35 day leave to visit his parents Mr. and Mrs. Harm Huisman and friends. He just finished a year long Air Force duty in Iceland. A deal was made last week with Robert DeVries Sr trading his large house, once the local hospital, for George W. Jutting’s 70 acre farm. Harold Bohl and Chuck Armstrong visited Mason City, meeting Roger Bohl who arrived from Kansas City after completing Weaver's Airline Personnel School.

Alonzo Johnson, Chairman of the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation County Committee, announces that 1967 price-support loan maturity dates match 1966. Loans may be issued up to one month before maturity. if not placed under loan, the farmer may sell to CCC with prior ASC county notice. Written reseal requests for 1967 crops must reach the county office by maturity. eligible crops include wheat, corn, barley, oats, grain sorghum, and soybeans. Reseal loans on 1984, 1965, and 1966 crops stored on farms are extended automatically without a request.
