Why Farmers Do Not Participate In Farm Programs
In 1947 about 1 409 farmers joined the Farm Program and reasons for nonparticipation were surveyed in the South. Many small time farms served as homes with other town jobs, limiting incentive. About 3% lacked knowledge, 18% could not afford the share, and 10% did not want to participate.
