Fragmentary historical remark notes Bris did that long before she became a widow. The Philadelphia Ledger is cited as the source of the quoted line.
Plans for a Daughters of the Revolution memorial arch at Cambridge Massachusetts near the Gardner Street and Massachusetts Avenue entrance to the common have been approved. The 15 foot high granite arch will feature the Massachusetts seal and two bronze tablets with Washington portraits and Revolutionary imagery. Funds totaling about 5000 dollars will be raised, with over 100 collected so far, expected to be completed by spring.
