Meinder Harms Nup at Ramsey Reformed Church
Wilbert Meinders and Gertrude Harms wed at Ramsey Reformed Church on Tuesday February 5 at 7 30 pm. Rev William Kroon officiated the double ring ceremony with music by Mrs Donald Tapper and Myrna Risius. The couple will live on the groom’s farm near Buffalo Center after a southern state honeymoon. Out-of-town guests came from Bancroft Lakota Woden Burt Garner Belmond Ventura Klemme Kanawha and Buffalo Center.

At the January meeting the commissioners approved paying 100 dollars in State Dues and 85 dollars in National Dues for 1957. Drainage plans were prepared for Edwin Christ and Thomas Hagen, Norway Township, Donald Palmer and C. E. Gunderson, Forest Township, Merle Darby and Conrad Reines, Newton Township. Nursery stock orders from the State Conservation Commission at Des Moines should be placed by March 1, first come first served. Social notes include visits to Rev. Feistner at Mansfield from Mr. and Mrs. Krueger and visitors from Madison and Thompson meals and birthdays. Also an ad for Chex Wear floor enamel from John and Jerry's Hardware.

Ladies Literary Circle Entertains Husbands at Dinner
The Ladies Literary Circle met Tuesday at the B. F. Steinberg home with 13 members present. Maye Steinberg presided. Plans were laid for a dinner to entertain husbands in the Lutheran church parlors served by circle members. Charles City nurseryman Mr. Cashman will show Africa trip slides. Discussed extension meeting in Thompson and adult education awards. A drive to raise awareness for Multiple Sclerosis started by a small Iowa club. The program covered Iowa Schools past and present, with notes on education from Greek culture to the one room school to consolidated systems. The group praised early Buffalo Township settlers as the first to consolidate. Lila Meyers described changes in teaching materials and visual aids improving modern classrooms. Noon.
