The Grant K Y N Club met at Mrs Irene Duen home Feb 1 with 14 members. They changed meeting date to the first Thursday. Entertainment featured a game won by Mrs Ruth Nodland and Mrs Carrie Hanna. Members embroidered names on red hearts for a cloth with a central white heart and club initials W Y N. The cloth was given to Mrs Nerene Erpeiding moving near LeVerne. A lunch followed and other residents attended events at local homes and farms. A birth announced: Gloria Jean Hanna born Feb 1 at Forest City hospital to Mr and Mrs Marvin Hanna. Grant Mission Aid to Meet set for Feb 16 at the church with hostesses Mrs Elmer Larson and Mrs Art McMullen. Continuous community notes include visits among local families and travel to Minneapolis for shopping.

Farm and Home Management Meeting February 22
Young farm couples invited to attend a nine hour Farm and Home Management meeting at the RBA building in Thompson on February 22 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. County Extension Director Norbert Dorow, with Gordon Bivens from Iowa State College, will lead discussions on farm and home management goals records and credit. A panel will analyze a farm business scenario and attendees may plan livestock and cropping systems. Participants must sign up at the Thompson extension office by February 15.

Family May Visit West With Relatives in Illinois and Iowa
A family returned home Friday from Chicago after a January 23 departure. They traveled with daughter Ruth Jane to Michigan City Indiana, then stayed in Chicago with Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Snell. They visited Nevada with Mr. and Mrs. Carl E Johnson and called on Mrs. Rasmussen’s brother Mr. and Mrs. Peter Egenes near McCallsburg and Mrs. Martin Egenes in Roland who had left hospital on December 27.
