The Buffalo Center Fire Department was called to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Murra Sunday evening around 7 o clock when the Murras discovered their chimney was on fire. Firemen were on guard in case of a broader blaze as soot in the chimney caught fire but no damage occurred to the building.

Two Vehicle Crashes Reported to Sheriff
Two accidents reported in Sheriff Monson's office. On January 29 at 3:30 p.m. Arlyn T. Brosdal of Hanlontown and Herman Hovland of Fertile collided at L and 5th Street in Forest City causing 40.48 damage to Brosdal's 1947 Chevrolet. The second crash occurred February 1 at 10:15 a.m. involving Charles A. Vedder of Marshfield Wisconsin, Matthew J. Hintsula of Faribault Minnesota, and Paul Henry Lovik in a three-vehicle wreck at highways 9 and 69. damages extended to Vedder's northbound Oldsmobile, Hintsula's Olds, and Lovik's Dodge pickup.
