The Bloodmobile visited Buffalo Center on Wednesday January 28 at the Masonic Hall. Of 50 donors, 42 stints were collected, including 10 first time donors. Represented towns were Buffalo Center 30 Thompson 8 Lakota 1 Woden 2 Rake 1. Five dollar pints of blood were received in July 1969.

Des Moines man Cornwell found guilty in motor home theft
Harold Wayne Cornwell 39 of Des Moines was convicted January 22 in Hancock County District Court of harboring a stolen motor vehicle. He owned Eastown Motors and Trailer Sales. Other suspects include his brother Merle B. Cornwell 24, with two other motor homes still tied to the crimes. Investigators recovered three Winnebago units after months of inquiries by Winnebago County Sheriff Donald Wold and state and federal agencies.
