War Bond sales lag in Winnebago County drives urges farmers
In Winnebago County the 4th War Loan drive trails the quota, while Buffalo Center has met its goal and Grant and Buffalo Townships lag. Citizens who have not purchased are urged to visit Farmers Trust & Savings Bank to buy bonds, easing committee workload and pushing townships over the top. A separate price comparison notes wartime retail prices from 1918 to 1943 for meat, dairy, and bread to argue costs stem from factors other than farmer prices.

Forest City Editor Dies After Heart Attack
W R Prewitt 75 editor and co owner of the Winnebago Hanecock Summit, Forest City weekly, died of a heart attack at home Monday afternoon after two weeks illness. Funeral today at Forest City Methodist Church. burial at Marengo beside wife. Also reports county cage titles and local notices including births, dismissals, and hotel changes.
