Bison FFA Repeats Superior Rating At National Contest
Buffalo Center Bilson FFA members again earned the Superior rating in the National FFA Chapter Contest. Since chartering in 1930 the chapter has carried out many successful activities in supervised farming programs leadership community service cooperation earnings and savings scholarship public relations and recreation. Of 243 chapters in the state 88 were Superior while Audubon and Waverly led as top chapters and 21 were rated Standard.

Grandson Killed In Motorcycle Mishap In Oregon
Relatives learned Sunday evening that Steve Jeppsen, 15, son of Mr and Mrs Chris Jeppsen of Corvallis Oregon, died in a motorcycle crash Sunday afternoon. Born July 24 1950 his grandmother Mrs Maggie Buckelman and his aunt Mrs Tom Hanson traveled to Oregon for funeral services held February 1 at 2 30 pm at the Methodist Church in Corvallis. Survivors include his parents a brother Jim 19 and two sisters Margie 22 and Julie 12 plus many relatives. His mother is the former Viola Boekelman.
