Westendorf Wounded and Soldiers Home Visit Reported
The war department informs Mr and Mrs Charley Westendorf that their son Private First Class Henry B Westendorf was slightly wounded in action January nine in Luxembourg. Mail details follow from hospital. Sergeant Leonard Kuchenreuther returns on leave to Buffalo Center after three years away. he served with Anti-Tank 133rd Infantry, 34th Division, and was wounded in February 1942 in the North African campaign before Sicily and Italy.

Farmers Urged To Apply Now For 1945 Tractor Fuel
Plans for issuing Iowa farmers their non highway gasoline and tractor fuel oil rations for 1945 were completed by Office of Price Administration and AAA in Des Moines. Farmers should use R-537 for gasoline or tractor fuels and R-1102 for kerosene. Complete applications must be emailed to the local War Price and Rationing Board, with full farm use details and current coupon inventories, for initial partial issuance and subsequent balance upon depletion. An OPA note: farm year March 1945 to March 1946.
