Grant Gleaners Christmas Party at Center Schoolhouse

Grant Gleaners 4-H club met Monday December 13 for its annual Christmas party at Center Schoolhouse. Members enjoyed candle making with glitter and frosting for decoration and learned about Christmas customs in other nations. Elaine Meyering demonstrated picture framing methods. Local family visits and guests span Lincoln Titonica and more

Mr and Mrs Gene Shreve and family of Lincoln Nebraska were Tuesday and Wednesday guests at the parental Mr and Mrs Leo Orthel home. June Steenblock came Monday to spend a few days with her friend Ellen Betels. Larry Alan Gray son of Mr and Mrs Larry Gray of Titonica is also spending a few days with his grandparents Mr and Mrs Wm Hetela.

Wool Incentive Price Increase for 1966 Shrinkage Ride

The shorn wool incentive price will rise to 68 cents per pound for the 1966 marketing year, up three cents from the current level. Mohair support rises to 75.8 cents per pound, up 3.8 cents. Pulled wool remains supported near the incentive price, with payments tied to a percentage of the producer's returns. The 1986 Wool price is set by the 1985 Food and Agriculture Act formula.

Wool and Mohair Payment Program Extended to 1989

The text notes extension of the wool and mohair payment program through 1989 under a new incentive price formula. It describes 62 cents as the present wool support price, adjusted by the ratio of the average parity index over the most recent three years to the average parity index of 1958 1959 and 1960. The Wool Act sets mohair support within 15 percent above or below the parity level used for wool, and the 1966 mohair support price remains at the local minimum level.
