Record soybean crop expected again this year
The WASDE report forecasts a national soybean harvest at just over 4 billion bushels for 2016/17, up from 3.93 billion last year, with a first survey yield of 48.9 bushels per acre. Iowa yields are pegged at 57 bu/ac. Despite record yields, total production declines slightly due to harvested area drop, while demand supports prices.
