Railroads grant three-cent Iowa state fair excursion rate
Special reduced excursion rates are set for Iowa residents attending the state fair and exposition in late August. After a conference among Chicago railroads Iowa Department of Agriculture officials and Iowa commercial groups, the old three-cent-a-mile round trip rate will apply when the ordinary rate is seventy-five cents, boosting attendance and supporting Iowa agricultural and industrial interests.
