Death of Andrew Francis Shocks College Station Family

Andrew Francis, eldest son of Dr and Mrs Mark Francis longtime College Station residents, died after years of illness. A 1912 graduate of the Agricultural and Mechanical College, he later studied at Cornell University. The body was shipped to Shandon Ohio for burial.

Negro 15 Arrested for Killing Mexican in County Jail

Saturday's Daily Hagle reports Kid Shannon a Black man arrested by Sheriff Nunn and jailed on murder charges for the killing of Sebastian Rodriguez a Mexican man about 70. Rodriguez body was found at Whiteswitch with a chin wound and a pistol cartridge shell nearby.

Eight Indictments Issued By Grand Jury

The grand jury returned eight indictments at noon on Friday six for burglary one for theft of cattle and one for assault with intent to commit criminal assault. Names of the indicted are not published as arrests have not yet been made.

Italian Captain Flies From Turin to London Nonstop

Captain Laureati of the Italian army and an observer completed a nonstop flight from Turin to London covering 656 miles in seven hours and twelve minutes. The same officer set a new world long distance record on August 29 by flying from Turin to Naples and back, about nine hundred miles.

Farmers Deliver Cotton Bales Near Cross City

An Eagle representative noted two Grimes county farmers were in the city yesterday from near Cross with cotton. One brought three bales and the other two, the result of work on the Navasota river crossing by the Bryan commercial club and citizens of Bryan and Brazos county.
