County Agent C L Bease porte and Demonstration Agent Lacy Givens summarize 4-H project reports with scores and awards. Members prepare for fair exhibits while terracing and erosion control are discussed by local leaders including A K Short. Grape juice production and preserves are featured with recipes and home economics notes.
The Texas state highway commission ordered immediate surveying and repairs to the Old San Antonio Road in this section. Chief Engineer Gib Gilchrist and C C Todd Jr. will lead the preliminary survey, with temporary fixes to follow to improve traffic flow. W S Barron, a local representative and 41st Legislature speaker, discussed the project in Austin.
Miss Lucy Givens and Brazos county agents outline community exhibits for the American Legion Fair in Bryan in November. Funds cover cash crops, livestock, canning, textiles, and floral displays with specific quotas and prize opportunities to encourage quality, variety, and community participation.
