Bryan Well Push Drilling Reaches 266 Feet At Wick Place
Drilling on the Wick place two miles southwest of Bryan continues steadily after spudding Monday morning. The well reached 266 feet by six p.m. Wednesday. Veteran Fighter Dies At Cuero In Sudden Casualty
Cuero Texas September 16 Charles Roth known as Uncle Charlie an 85 year old Civil War veteran and former Foreign Legion soldier died suddenly Tuesday morning at the home of Mrs F L Chapman. He recounted living a life of adventure including deserting to join federal forces in Brownsville and fighting near New Orleans. His pension papers were lost and no record could be found, leading to poverty in later years.
