Ideal weather for destroying boll weevil in Brazos County
Special to the Bryan Eagle from Dallas Texas October 25 reports say rain has made conditions ideal for boll weevil control via autumn plowing. The Texas Chamber of Commerce notes progress across Lamar Smith and other eastern counties, with the clean-up campaign advancing in South Texas. If mild weather lasts weeks, effective working time remains. hibernation after frost ends the weevil, while destroying squares and foliage halts breeding. Cooperation among farms boosts results. even single fields benefit when surrounded by pasture land.
