Bankers urged co operative warehousing for farmers

In Washington on October 21, Jos. Hirsch of Corpus Christi Texas urged bankers to back a co operative warehousing and selling system to help farmers profit. He warned bankers to enter the field of marketing to ensure fair profit and curb rural decline. John Drum of San Francisco was elected president of the American Bankers Association for a one year term without opposition.

Baylor Basketball Team to Go West

Baylor University plans a winter western trip for its basketball team during Christmas holidays. The squad will play Y M C A and club teams in cities including Houston San Antonio El Paso Tucson Riverside Los Angeles Pasadena Santa Barbara San Jose and San Francisco. Mebane Cottonseed Exhibit Stalk Sets Records in Texas

Lockhart Texas October 15 The Me bane Cottonseed Company sent a car of Mebane cotton stalks to Dallas for its exhibit and the Shreveport state fairs. One stalk shows 154 bolls and squares the highest seen locally. A general stalk would yield about six bales per acre. twenty open bolls equal a bale per acre.

Mrs Valie Mulhall Passes After Long Illness

Mrs Valie J Mulhall died Thursday at 1 35 am at the home of her niece in Bryan after a long illness. Born June 8 1851 in Miami Missouri she moved to Bryan in 1872 and married J F Muinaty in 1887. She leaves her husband two sisters and a brother and will be buried in City Cemetery after funeral at First Methodist Church Friday at 10.

Bryan Woman's Club Notes Fostering Education and Civic Duty

The Bryan Woman's Club hosts the Girls Reading Club Campus Study Club and neighboring town groups on Wednesday October 27 with a lecture by Maggie Barry on Americanization and a ticket-sale appeal by Eberstadt for a Lyceum benefiting Bryan High School and Allen Academy. Rio Grande Valley to Host Texas Editors Meeting

Texas Press Association executive committee selected June 9 to 11 for the annual meeting in McAllen in the Rio Grande Valley. Delegations from Galveston Dallas McAllen and Mineral Wells urged their cities with McAllen winning 4 to 2 to 1 and the decision was unanimous.
