Bryan Baptist academy held a quaint commencement with eight graduates four girls and four boys. Rev J C Welch gave the invocation while Rufus C Meads spoke on conserving human life. Austelle Reynolds read on hyphenated Americans and Evelyn Sanders sang for an encore. Dr W M W Splawn delivered the baccalaureate address and diplomas were conferred by M E Weaver.

Bryan city commission met to authorize bids for a sewerage disposal plant. City Engineer Adams prepared the plans printed in the Eagle. $8,000 bonds were sold at $1.05 and the interest is on deposit. The commission levied a one third share paving assessment on Fannin Lamar Monroe Ennis Caldwell streets and Banks avenue. Payments due 30 days after acceptance. The I and GN railroad was ordered to cease daytime switching on Bryan street. hours of switching had been defined but suspended during paving.

Mrs M A Jenkins Dies In Bryan After Long Life
Mrs M A Jenkins died Sunday in Bryan at 4 am aged 86 years 2 months 13 days. Funeral at 4 pm at St Andrews Church with Rev Randolph Ray. Born in England she lived in the United States for over 50 years and had six children two sons and the father predeceased. Surviving are C E H S Arthur Jenkins and Mrs Roman and granddaughter Mrs S I Dunn. E J Jenkins heads the volunteer fire department with the flag at half mast for the funeral.

US grand jury in Dallas began treason and conspiracy probes into the Farmers and Laborers Protective association of America accused of opposing selective conscription. Arrests include A. H. Ford at Shreveport and William Velon McCoy with J. W. Phipps in Roanoke, Hulet M. Wells in Seattle, and five Falls County farmers plus a Falls County Black man.
