Elks of the Nation Plan Wide Patriotic Work in Texas

The Elks association of Texas holds its Galveston convention June 4 to 6 to discuss a national effort to rehabilitate wounded Allied soldiers. The program includes hospital care, vocational training, and financial aid funded with 250000 dollars, with a Boston hospital already treating 547 men. The effort has War Department approval and seeks outside support, with no change to Elks membership requirements. The event also features a robust social program and reduced rail fares June 1 for attendees from across the state.
