Lou Sapp testified in Beaumont about his arrest on March 13 1915 and his whereabouts from January to March 1915. He denied killing Havart Watts or involvement with Mrs Sapp s death and detailed travel with E E Sapp and Havart including visits to Wright s Big Thicket camp and Beaumont fire station. Defense called nineteen witnesses while the state presented earlier alibi and motive contradictions in the murder case of Mrs Sapp.
