Gabe Cazell to Lead Sing Song at Wichita Falls Rotary Meet

Gabe Cazell, a Bryan Rotarian with voice classification, was chosen to lead the sing song at the Wichita Falls Rotary meeting on April 3 and 4. His leadership of last year’s event earned wide praise and his selection this year follows that success.

Fire destroys barn on Boriskie farm near College

Fire of unknown origin burned a large barn on V. J. Boriskie’s farm home place two and a half miles east of College Monday at about 1 o clock. Loss estimated at 1500 dollars with little insurance. several harnesses, two chicken brooders, saddles, and 3 tons of peas and oats burned. Nearby fire losses noted in past weeks. other local items include a baby ill with fever and visits by J. H. McCallum of Tabor.

The Woman's Missionary Society of the First Methodist Church met in five groups Monday afternoon. Group 1 with Mrs. Dansby opened with prayer. 110 Bible chapters read and 21 sick visits since the last meeting. Group 2 hosted by Mrs. Beard featured devotional and Mission Study. next meeting with Mrs. Priddy. Group 3 met at Edge Apartment with Mrs. Hall leading the study. Group 4 gathered at Mrs. Lawrence with nine members. study on The Child and America's Future and notes on youth work. Group 5 with Miss Kern reported 52 Bible chapters read and 30 sick visits. social hour with refreshments.

Death of Jim Skains in China Reported

Jim Skains son of Mr and Mrs T D Skains long established Bryan family died in Suchow China of black measles. A cablegram from his brother Bruce to Houston parents was received and relayed to Mrs E W Crenshaw in this city. The Skains were prominent locals who left Bryan for Houston about a decade ago.
