T. J. Preston has purchased Gordon and Ray’s furniture business in Teague Texas and will relocate with his family. His son Herbert Perston went to Teague to arrange details before the family’s arrival. Preston, a longtime local trader, leaves a notable void in the town’s business community.
Mr W N Glaze 72 died at a local sanitarium at 8 this morning after an operation performed Saturday. An old Bryan county businessman, he lived in Benchley before moving to Reliance recently and was highly regarded. Funeral at Reliance Church Cemetery tomorrow at 11 30 a m.
Washington notes the Senate voted 33 to 24 to amend the post office bill. The amendments would strip the Postmaster General of power to lower parcel post rates and alter regulations.
