Staple Length And Yield Should Base Seed Choice
College Station Jan 22 Progressive farmers weigh cotton seed choice by staple length and yield says E B Reynolds Texas Agricultural Experiment Station. He notes gin turnout matters less and longer staple fetches higher value per acre with ideal ranges 34 to 39 percent turnout and about one inch staple. USDA 1929 1930 data show fewer unrenderable bales as staple length improves.
